Dr. Russell and Dr. Lauren met while attending chiropractic school at Parker University in Dallas, TX. Having come from different backgrounds, they would regularly discuss various theories, ideas, and approaches within healthcare and specifically chiropractic which holds the vitalistic philosophy that the body is a vessel for Innate Intelligence which coordinates all functions of the body allowing it to be self-healing and self-regulating. Their mutual understanding and respect for these principles has inspired them in raising a family that honors this innate intelligence, supports body autonomy and natural childbirth, and follows daily life practices in alignment with nature. Dr. Russell and Dr. Lauren, have welcomed two healthy, thriving sons at home in water births.
At an early age Dr. Russell was inspired to serve others through the teaching and healing art of B.E.S.T. and Chiropractic care. The Morter family has been practicing chiropractic in Northwest Arkansas for over 50 years. As the 13th Chiropractor in his family, Dr. Russell has observed the amazing expression of health available through the appreciation and application of a health lifestyle.
Dr. Russell began his undergraduate education at Western State in Gunnison, Colorado. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, TX. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness.
Dr. Russell is a Master Practitioner of the Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique developed by his grandfather, Dr. M.T. Morter Jr. Dr. Russell also utilizes various other chiropractic techniques in order to better serve his patients’ individual needs. With a passion to teach his patients a healthy lifestyle and continue sharing his grandfather’s work, Dr. Russell applies the energy and spirit of service and compassion to his daily life and practices. Dr. Russell is excited to be serving his hometown community of Rogers, Arkansas.
Fascinated by the power of the human body, Dr. Lauren was motivated to pursue a career in the healing arts. She received a Bachelor‘s Degree from Texas Tech University in Exercise Sport Sciences and gained experience in the healthcare field as a cardiac stress testing and rehabilitation intern and as an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist. Dr. Lauren’s chiropractic career path began after having the opportunity to work in a chiropractic office and witness first-hand, the healing power of chiropractic care. Having experienced the amazing benefits herself, she decided to move to Dallas, TX to attend Parker University College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Lauren is a supporting member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, is Webster Technique Certified, and has training in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization in order to better support her practice members by preparing their body for pregnancy, helping them train for labor and birth, and to support them as they heal postpartum or from a loss or miscarriage.
Dr. Lauren is very passionate about supporting the health of mothers and children and the profound effect it will have on the future of our society. For this reason, she dedicates most of her continuing education towards women and children’s health. Dr. Lauren has past experience working with children through Girl Scouts of America, Lubbock ISD Adapted Physical Education Programs, Lubbock Artificial Limb and Brace, and the YMCA after-school program for children with special needs.
